Alicia’s sister (Emily) and Kevin went to high school together, so Kevin knew of Alicia from that mutual connection. Kevin used to jokingly tell Emily that he thought Alicia was cute and that one day he would date her. Years later, when Kevin heard that Alicia was single, Emily gave Kevin Alicia’s phone number so he could reach out to her. Emily famously claimed that it wouldn’t work out (this is now the second relationship that Emily set up, said, wouldn’t work out, and which has resulted in wedding bells)!

Alicia and Kevin went on their first date on a beautiful evening in September 2017. Kevin taught Alicia how to target shoot, listened to Rihanna in the truck (Alicia’s suggestion 😊) and got dinner at Sharky’s Cafe. After a few more dates, which included the Pittsburgh Pierogi Festival, the Renaissance Festival, Joe’s Bar in Ligonier (featuring a unique taxidermy museum) and after an outing in their first couple’s Halloween costume, Alicia & Kevin officially started dating. Over the next seven years, Alicia and Kevin enjoyed numerous Ligonier Ice festivals, dressed up in countless Halloween couples’ costumes, traveled several times out West, went to Slovakia, and have found themselves enjoying nights at home watching the Sopranos, going to antique shops or picking up Facebook marketplace finds. To go with the Tuxedo cat that Alicia already had, they adopted a "Heinz 57" type of mutt named Swillie who has them wrapped around his paw. The rest is history!
